5th draft

In this draft I have written the full responses to the interview questions, again the tone is informal and of a conversation style. The conversation style of the interview makes easy reading because it is easy to follow and it also makes it more personal and the reader  will find it much easier to understand and relate to. I have tried to make the answers as realistic as possible, I reinforced this by showing the rough answers to the questions that I had already made when planning to a friend and then asked them to answer the question using the answer but delivering it in their own way, when they responded I noted their answer and I added in some extra parts and then from this I had my answer to the questions. I feel that the questions and answers work well and make an interesting read. 

In my next draft I will need to work on the font colour or size to make the differentiation between the question and answer easier.

4th draft

In this draft I have added a shadow to the masthead text to add depth to the writing and to lift it off of the page, the shadow gives this effect because the yellow text hovers above it. By doing this I have made it standout more and hopefully this should catch the readers eye easier, this will be particularly useful for when people are flicking through the magazine because it will draw their eyes and they may then read it. 

I have also added a coverline in the bottom right corner informing the reader that the artist's (Route-A's) tour dates are on the next page, I have also used the shadow on "Tour Dates" to make it standout from the rest of the page.

3rd draft

I have now at this stage composed the interview questions and placed them on the page leaving space for the answers. By doing this I can now see a greater structure to the page and can see how the finished piece will look in my mind. I have also written an opening paragraph about Route-A and an introduction to the interview. The tone of the writing is informal, this is done because it makes easy reading which is what is necessary for such a magazine and its audience. The informality makes it more enjoyable and allows the reader to step out of the serious way of life and instead they can just enjoy an easy read about a topic they are interested in. Before creating my questions I researched interviews in magazines, particularly music related ones. I found this research allowed me to understand the tone in which the interviews are written in, this made it a lot easier to produce the questions. When researching interviews I found that the questions are fairly generic and about nothing particularly interesting and they are designed mainly for the person in question to show off their personality and to publicise themselves, when creating my questions I considered this and tried to incorporate this idea.

In some cases even though I have not yet written answers some questions follow up answers that do not exist, I have been able to do this because I already have an idea of what I will put as the answers and I have written up brief answers already, by doing this I have been able to form an interview that is of a conversation style again increasing the informality.

2nd draft

Since the first draft I have selected two pictures that I want for the contents page. The main image positioned in the center of the page shows the featuring artist Route-A, it is rather simplistic focusing primarily on the artist, I like the actual picture of him however I am not particularly fond of the background of the image, this is because it has no relevance and it does not suit the topic in hand.

The second image in the top right of the page is again of the artist but is a mid shot and has a different background. I like this image how it is however I feel it might need a border around it.

The overall layout so far is how I want it to be and it is similar to my plan.

1st draft

First of all I added the two corner parts of the page in the top left and bottom right of the page, these are of the same style to the half circle faded shapes that I have used in the corners. I tried using the half circle shape but it did not suit the page, due to this I played around on paint and eventually I decided upon using a triangular shape, I used the same method of construction as before using paint. By doing this I have made sure that the double page spread keeps the magazines style and along with it its identity.

I have also made a masthead for the page which informs the reader what the topic is about. I chose to use the use colour yellow on top of the black background so that it stands out.

I have also chosen a sub heading that informs the reader further about the topic, again the use of yellow is used for the same purpose as the masthead.

I have also included the page number in the bottom right of the page to inform readers of the page number

Now that I have looked into double page spreads I feel that I am ready to make my plan. Bellow is the basic structure of what I intend to create.

PLAN

The idea of this plan is not based on any particular magazine but instead I have incorporated the raw parts that are in almost every double page spread and along with this I plan to add the house style.
